What are Fat Dissolving Injections?
“A new and exciting safe and minimally invasive approach to dissolving localised pockets of fat.”
Aqualyx is one of the brands that is used for fat dissolving
How does it work?
The human body naturally stores fat in order to supply energy and subcutaneous fat cells are difficult to diminish. The active substance in Aqualyx locks into the cell wall making it unstable and releasing the fatty acid that is stored within it. Cell residue is removed and broken down by the body’s defences and the released fatty acids are converted to energy.
What will the treatment feel like?
The treatment area will be cleaned and topical anaesthetic may be applied for comfort. The solution will be injected using a fine and flexible cannula, with minimal injection points (1-4). The area will feel warm and you may experience a slight burning or stinging sensation. Aqualyx contains local anaesthetic so is a comfortable procedure to have.
How many treatments?
Number of treatments varies according to the amount of fat and desired result, on average you will be expected to have 3-5 treatments at 3-4 weekly intervals or longer depending on residual swelling and tenderness.
